'We are doing an amazing job'- Lisandro Martinez edifies Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Lindelof

Manchester United's ace Lisandro Martinez has thrown some insights into his relationship with his fellow defender Raphael Varane, stressing how much he has enjoyed playing with the former Real Madrid center back.

During Manchester United's press conference on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the reverse fixture of their Europa League round of 16 tie, Lisandro Martinez expressed his happiness playing with Raphael Varane and how the players' connection is helping them play more confidently in the defense.

"Rapha [Raphael Varane] is an amazing player, and I really enjoy playing with him." We always enjoy being together in training, but the good thing is that we are working hard. "We are doing an amazing job, but we also have Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire," he said.

They are always ready, and I am happy because we have a really good connection. When you have those players and that connection, you can have clean sheets, and you can play with confidence at the back.

Lisandro Martinez has become a fan favorite in his position, evidence being that his presence at the back has always influenced Man United's style of play; this has earned him a nickname amongst the Old Trafford faithful; if you haven't heard of "Butcher," then you aren't a true Man United's fan.

He has as well earned himself an "Argentina" chant, which is often heard on days the 5-foot-10 defender appears unplayable. While the 24-year-old is looking forward to building his confidence with the fans' support, he spoke about the connection that has been built between the team and the fans this season.

"It is important, and football is about it," he said when asked about the bond he has developed with our fans.

"Football is passion and is to be played with your heart." "We have to keep going with that connection with the people; we have to keep going," he explained.

Lisandro Martinez has won the Carabao Cup since his arrival at Old Trafford; prior to that, he was part of the Argentina national team that was crowned world champions last year in Qatar.

While he and his partner in defense are experienced in terms of winning trophies, this is an attribute Erik Ten Hag's team will be aiming to bank on as they continue to hunt for another trophy this season. The Argentine and his teammates have one foot in the Europa League quarterfinals following their 4-1 win over Real Betis in the first leg of the round of 16 tie, and they are also in the Emirates FA Cup quarterfinals, where they will need to beat Fulham if they want to progress to the semi finals.

Lisandro Martinez is looking forward to helping the team win more trophies and celebrating with the Old Trafford faithful.

"We have really good players," said the Argentina international when quizzed on our hopes for future silverware.

"We are Manchester United, and we want to win every trophy." "We have to work hard, which we are doing now."

"We have to go game-by-game and believe, but we have to fight for every title," he explained.
