Manchester United playmaker, Juan Mata, could be on his way out of Old Trafford when his contract expires in June.
Fans of the club believed Red Devils hindered his development.
Below is a criticism articulated by a loyal fan.
What Manchester United did to Juan Mata was criminal. He could be on par with David Silva over a lengthy period at the top, but he went to United and got dashed on the wing, sat on the bench, and rubbed out by managers.
One of the mysteries of the modern era of the United: "Why was an attack not built around Juan Mata in the number 10 position?"
He was arguably one of the best number 10s in Europe at Chelsea.
Juan Mata is one of the most lethal lock-picking left boots I have ever seen, and we dragged his career instead, playing him right-wing.
Mata's arrival showed the Red Devils' lack of planning or strategy. We signed him when we had Rooney playing very well in his position. Yet, each time Rooney takes a different role, we seem to forget about him.
He did an interview once stating how he would love to play in a deeper position, dictating play and implying how he would have to modify his game as he got older. It has never happened, obviously.
I think he was unfairly branded with the Moyes era and suffered for it. He was not a Louis van Gaal type player, I am not sure what Jose Mourino’s issue with him was, but you could think they would be a good fit.
He has been an excellent servant to United. Nobody has a bad word to say about him. Yet there was a sense of 'what could have been about him.
At 25, the decision to go to Manchester United might be one of the worst ever.
